How is a Heatizon Roof Deicing System Installed?

Roof Ice Melt System under Non Conductive Shingles - ZMesh Bronze Screen Heating Element

ZMesh is a bronze screen heating element that is installed under non conductive roofing materials. Roof Deicing applications provide a 9" wide screen that is installed in parrallel runs and can be stapled to the subroof. ZMesh is installed with a starting and ending point, forming a continuous loop, where connections are made to leads running back to the Control Unit. Turns are achieved by folding the ZMesh directly over itself forming 90 degree angles. The Roof Ice Melt Systems is covered by a layer of ice and water shield and then the roofing materials as normal. Nails and staples do not damage the heating element and can be use to attach the shingles and the heating element to the roof. Along the eave the drip edge is installed first along with a drip edge protector (ice and water shield) to prevent conductivity with the ZMesh Roof Ice Melt System.
